2023 China International Digital Economy Expo Opens in Shijiazhuang

Ni Yuefeng Announces the Opening Ceremony, Wang Zhengpu, Zhao Zhiguo, Xu Haoliang, Logvinov Grigory delivers a speech

The 2023 China International Digital Economy Expo, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the People’s Government of Hebei Province, opened in Shijiazhuang. The theme of this expo is “Industrial Internet empowers thousands of industries and digital economy leads high-quality development”.

Ni Yuefeng, Secretary of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Hebei Provincial People’s Congress, announced the opening of the 2023 China International Digital Economy Expo. Wang Zhengpu, Deputy Secretary of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Governor, and Zhao Zhiguo, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered speeches. Xu Haoliang, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme, and Logvinov Grigory, First Deputy Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, delivered a video speech.

Wang Zhengpu, on behalf of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Government of Hebei Province, warmly welcomed the leaders and guests attending the conference. He said that Hebei has conscientiously implemented the important instructions of the General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, deeply pushed forward digital industrialization and industrial digitization, vigorously improved digital infrastructure, constantly promoted digital empowerment transformation, actively developed the industrial internet, and pushed forward the industrial internet to enter a new stage of deep cultivation and empowerment development. It is the hope that the attending guests can take this Digital Economy Expo as an opportunity to gather the joint efforts of industrial internet innovation, layout a new track of the digital economy, build a dream of a new blue ocean of the digital economy, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and work together to create a future.

Zhao Zhiguo stated in his speech that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will closely focus on the primary task of high-quality development, continuously promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, and expand new space for economic development. Hebei has a strong manufacturing foundation and rich industrial internet application scenarios. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is willing to work with all parties to explore new driving forces for digital growth and advance intelligent, integrated, and green development.

Xu Haoliang said in his speech that China attaches great importance to the development of the digital economy, which has become one of the new engines of China’s economy. In recent years, Hebei has vigorously promoted digital industrialization and industrial digitization, achieving significant results. We hope that all parties can strengthen collaborative cooperation through the Digital Economy Expo platform and jointly explore new paths for digital economy and sustainable development.

Logvinov Grigory said in his speech that in early July this year, member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held a Council of Heads of State to reach important consensus on the development of the digital economy. The Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is willing to assist Hebei in continuously deepening the development of finance, digital economy, and technological innovation.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, and the China Center for Information Industry Development respectively released the list of newly added cross industry and cross domain industrial internet platforms in 2023, the National Industrial Internet Platform Application Level Evaluation Report, and the 2023 China Digital City Competitiveness Research Report. At the meeting, a signing ceremony for key cooperation projects was also held, and the attending leaders and guests listened to the keynote speech together.

From September 5th to 6th, Ni Yuefeng, Wang Zhengpu, and other provincial leaders met with attending the Digital Economy Expo Leaders of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd., China Tower Corporation, iFlytek Corporation, Shenzhen Innovation Investment Group Co., Ltd., National Manufacturing Transformation and Upgrading Fund Co., Ltd., National Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund Co., Ltd., and Haitong Securities Co., Ltd., Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., China Electronics Haikang Group Co., Ltd., Inspur Group Co., Ltd., National Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund Co., Ltd., and Hopu Investment Management Co., Ltd. also visited the Digital Economy Expo exhibition with relevant guests.

The 2023 China International Digital Economy Expo will be held from September 6th to 8th. During this period, professional competitions such as the Intelligent Robot Innovation and Entrepreneurship Invitational Tournament, the Industrial Internet National Application Innovation Competition, as well as a series of parallel forums, industrial ecology conferences, and innovation achievement matchmaking and release activities will be held.

Comrades in charge of relevant national ministries, departments, and directly affiliated units, leaders of relevant provinces and cities, leaders of top 100 industrial internet enterprises and international and domestic industry organizations and leading enterprises in the field of digital economy, leaders of universities, academicians, experts and scholars, leaders of leading investment and financing institutions, news media, representatives of some diplomatic envoys and international organizations and institutions in China, representatives of friendly provinces, states, and cities overseas, and representatives of multinational corporations, relevant provincial leaders and others participated. Vice Governor Hu Qisheng presided over the opening ceremony.
